“NO-FLY: ZONE OVER LIBYA

[Shamim A Siddiqi, New York]

People generally try to assimilate different views and options with possibilities of their outcome but could not foresee and discuss the emergence of a democratic Libya in its wake, as the die-hard need of the time.

Had this been the purpose behind imposing the "No-Fly" Zone over Libya, the preparation would  have been different? With "No-Fly" Zone over their head, the combined forces of Arab League should have marched to Libya and dethroned Gaddafi as permitted by Allah vide Verse # 9 of Surah Al-Hujrat and paved the ground for the  emergence of the democratic rule  in that country as Gaddafi is adamant and not the least prepared to get down from power even after 42 years of his tyrant rule.

Here the case is quite different. The Arab League represents the Arab Governments not the people. Hence, it is a very impotent body right from its very inception. It failed to act against Saddam when he attacked Kuwait and it again failed to take action against Gaddafi when he is killing his own people.

It only requested the Western Forces, their Masters, just for the No-Fly zone with only lip sympathy with people's cause and not for the change of regime or the restoration of democratic process. They are to be blamed for the prevailing pre- carious condition of Libya on the ground. It is due to their cowardice and nurturing no vision at all for the democratic process to emerge at the end of the tunnel.

We have to see that the entire ME and North Africa is ruled and dominated by the "hired" Agents of Euro-American powers who had been showing only lip sympathy to democratic process [like Mr Bush] and human rights [like Mr Obama] and carrying out their end-game of patronizing the brutal forces in power of the region for their respective political game-plan. Libya is no exception to it where the people are fed up and tired of his 42 years of despotic rule and his senseless political catchwords, "mad" slogans and ruthless behavior.

These outside powers, I am sorry to say, these "non-democratic forces of the so-called democratic countries" are going to perpetuate  their game- plan in Libya. Had they any say in the uprising  of Tunisia  and Egypt, they would have played their nasty and dirty game of prolonging the rule of their stooges - Ibne Ali in Tunisia and  that of Mubarak in Egypt - but the youth of these two countries got upper hand, Alhamdulillah, and succeeded in getting rid of these two tyrants despotic regimes?

The rest of the despotic regimes are fighting with their people and the "democratic" Euro-American powers are at the back of their stooges. They all are clinging to power, wounding and brutally killing their people with the "silent" blessings of their "masters" who only show lip sympathy to the oppressed people of these lands but connive with the ruling Sheikhs, Kings and the Presidents to fulfill their socio-economic-political Agenda to accomplish in this vast track of land under so-called Muslim domination.

So is the case of Libya. America is clearly saying that Gaddafi is not their target. They are not going to search for him or trace his hide out. Change of regime is also not  their objective. Then, what for they are  there - just to perpetuate the tyrant rule of Gaddafi beyond 42 years or later on to have a deal with him to explore  more oil  at cheaper rate and make him "free" to take revenge from his oppressed and poverty struck people in different ways that the world may never come to know?

The intentions of the  powers that are imposing "No-fly" zone are overshadowed by their hidden agenda which is quite known to us but they are perhaps oblivion of that.

On the other hand, if the ground and mercenary forces of Gaddafi are not rooted out, the oppressed people of Libya will suffer enormously on the ground as the pro-Gaddafi forces are well armed and will try to capture Benghazi "Soonest" from the land not from the air. The rebels are very poorly armed  and are no match to Libyan well equipped forces.

Gaddafi is a very claver and hard nut to crack by the Allied forces. The Allied supersonic forces will remain flying in the air whereas on the ground, Gaddafi is likely to emerge as victorious.

Only the people of Libya will suffer immensely beyond recognition for decades to come and, God forbid., the  West will be enjoying  its lion share in London, Paris and Washington.

Hope you will please share  it with your readers to get  them acquainted with the other side of the coin.   Shukrun
